2.8 is relativeley easy, you can get to the filter drain bolt from the wheel arch and get at the filter from above. I do know what you're saying though, my chevy hangs down underneath the engine, easy to reach but does involve oil running down your arminto your armpit. _________________ Phil

Hi Wayne .... You won't see a manual for the 3.1TD unless you buy the ISUZU big manual £400 last time I asked.............. eebuygum CD's have only been as good as the handbook ...... Do a bit of a search on this forum and you will find a couple of guy's who have reasonable CD manuals available at less than silly money.

Well Wayne ... The only way I could see it coming up on there is if it was marketed as some form of posture enhancing aid.

Hard 1 please excuse my ignorance but what is LSD, I know you dont mean drugs please enlighten me. I've been racking my brain cell to try and put words to the letters but gave up. I really do need to get my car serviced properly as I have never changed the gearbox oil etc.

Hello Keith ..... Yes by nature there are two diffs on 4 x 4's ..... but some models have a limited slip diff which helps in traction by only allowing one wheel on the same axle to spin at a limited speed, for a more precise explanation try this link.....
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm
On the Trooper you need to check the spec plate under the bonnet and if G80 is included in the code then you have a LSD diff .......... this requires a special grade oil to be used in the diff.

The dipstick on our 4JX1-engined Wizard says "5W-30" or "10W-30" and I'd use nothing else. Neither grade is especially easy to get here.
I changed the oil over the weekend and managed to obtain some Havoline 10W-30 from a bulk container, worked out cheaper than in a plastic bottle.
The small filter was an absolute mongrel to change, the large one not so bad, although I had to take all three sump covers off to even see them let alone reach them with filter wrench. _________________ 1999 Isuzu Wizard
