Does anybody know what size the speakers are in a 2001 SWB Trooper Van ?? Also do i need any of the funny adaptor plates or will they accept standard speakers?

At last - JBL do two sizes of 6" speakers... 6" or 6.5"

The 6" models that fit the troopers are GTO-636e (three way) or GTO-626e (two way)

Finally i can have some tunes in the bus Laughing Laughing Laughing

I have a big 300w pair of JBL GTO 6x9's in the front of my Chevy, soon to be powered by a Mac attack 4075 amp along with a Resonant engineering RE8 8" sub powered by an alpine mono amp.  The trooper has a JVC head unit, some better clarion speakers in the front and some big old kenwoods in the back, doesn't sound too bad (HU is 4 x 45 watts supposedly)

Yep, thats why it also needs a big ass sound system as you can't hear just a HU powered speaker over the engine, wind and exhaust noise!  I've got to finish the bodywork first, welded in the inner sill today and the floor repairs yesterday.  Kick panel patch next.

I have just put Sony 4"Xplods in the rear of my Trooper, they went straight in,a 5 minute job,but I'm a bit disappointed with their sound.
Kenwood 6 1/2" fitted into the door bowls OK after some surgery with a bench grinder, they sound a lot better than the ancient Clarions that came out.

If you shop around you should get them for around £30-£35 per pair...
