I think it connects the fuel tank breather to the air filter and to another valve in the tank for roll overs , normally found on the Argentinean spec troopers.

To stop fuel going down the breather to the airbox if you end up on your side or upsidedown _________________ |

Do I need it? or should I just replace it with a length of hose? _________________ 1994 Isuzu Trooper 3.1TD 146,000 miles - Now dead

Argys and Brazilians got some good ideas for off road stuff hence they stilll make old school land cruisers with diff locks in brazil - the reason all Volvo ADT's have a filter on the fuel tank breather came from there so I was told.
If you driving in very dusty areas like they would have being hot n dry the then if you drive lots of miles the chances that you fuel tank breaths in dusty air is is pretty high so put the fuel tank breather in with the air cleaner .
You can see how far they drive so the trucks have to be up to it . _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |

I accidentally dislodged this whilst changing a corroded fuel pipe. Can anyone confirm that the short pipe (around 2 inches) is open to the atmosphere? |
