Hi, I am not sure if this is the right place but I have just bought a 95 big horn mk2

I have done quite a bit of laning in my range rovers but I have to say on the trooper the engine sump looks pretty exposed.

does anyone do a sump guard for these? if so whare and how much?

I am looking forward to trying this beast out in the mud  Very Happy

It should have a steel sump guard fitted as standard.

The mk1 was the only one with decent bash plates from the factory. Not seen anything on a mk2 other then  the front one on the cross member.  Better off making one tbh, few people have done this.

There would have been one there as standard. Chances are someone has removed it and not bothered putting it back. The 3.0 has a heavy plastic "mud scoop", and the old 2.8's had a steel plate. I don't know what the 3.1 had as standard.

As Gary said though, best bet is to make one up.

Bolt it to the 2 holes in the front gaurd, bend to fit and bolt to gearbox cross member if wanting full length bash plate. I used 6mm ally chequer plate to keep weight down, It took a fair old bit of abuse (sure people can say just how much abuse) and never failed, It's been adapted to fit my mk4 and the truck it was made for died from the abuse  Twisted Evil  if I fire the laptop up I'll see what pics I've got.

I wanted the gear box protecting aswell  Very Happy  It's still not light but steel would've been even heavier.

Unless you plan on hitting huge rocks hard then I cant see the point in extra armour.
