lol , it turned up today. I was expecting a sack truck to bring it as the one on my old southafrican bmw was 4mm steel with a 38mm tube frame.

I could pick it up with one hand easy , hmm is it the plasctic one and the guy was *beep*.

unwrapped the plastic and saw the front bash plate in there too which I already have.

the actual sump gaurd is only 1.6 ally with a few joggles in it lol it weighs about the same as a packet of crisps

it has some good cut outs for maintainace in it though, and it runs up to the lip of the crossmember.

the bloke who took it off forgot the rear brackets so they are coming soon, and his boss assured me he was suffering out there taking them off in the rain lol.

I am gonn have to double skin it with 3mm ally though as its not tough enough for my liking!

surprised they made summit so flimsy on a trooper!

yeah I was looking at and umming and aring today and I had a bit of 3mm stainless laying about- looking at the orginal really only one of the bends need to be there and the rest can be flat and just one cut out for the sump plug will do as the others were for the diff on one side WTF- surely we want to protect the diff! so I am going to make it lower slightly to go over the diff too.

One question, does the front diff move up and down on the these or is it fixed solid like I think?

sorry to sound dumb but I was a beam axel man before this lol

not yet , I will get round to it honest, cameras given up so I will have to use my other phone.

I want to get the new guard made for laning next week so once its done Ill get piccies of both.

wonder why they didnt cover the diff instead of cutting a hole out for it- daft. you can actually buy diff guards for the range rovers
