Hi, I own an Isuzu Wizard which has the 4JX1 in it and I have been using Mobil Delvac 1 (5w40) in it since I purchased the vehicle  7 years ago.  I change the oil and primary filter every 5,000 kms and change the secondry filter every 30,000 kms.
The only thing I noticed with this oil is that it dousnt like going past about 7,000 kms then it takes longer to start and dousnt run as smoothly so I stick to 5,000 km changes and its been great.
Its now done 185,000 kms and the only problems Ive had were hard starting and eratic running at 120,000 kms and this was cured by fitting a new orps and Injector harness and its been fine ever since. I plan to replace them again at 200,000 kms along with the Cam Belt.

Cheers
Roscoe

DAB.

Google "The Engine Oil Bible" for a very good analysis of oils, and the various specs. Really has all you need to know.
A5: - Fuel Economy...Petrol, with extended drain capability (long life)
B5: - Same as above, but for Diesel engines.
Cheers.

Hi, time for another oil change on the trooper.
I see Milners are doing a service "kit" for the 3.0lt  at £62.40 which is a lot cheeper than Halfords.

I know the engine likes the 5w30 fully synth would the 5w40 be ok?
Not wishing to encourage the impending doom of the 3.0lt any advice would be great.

On another note, just how tight should the alternator drive belts be ?
I am cautious about overt tightening as it seems to be putting a lot of stress on the bearings
in the water pump.  Too loose and it screeches like **** in the cold mornings.
