can anyone help me with a problem i have on my trooper 1987 2.3 petrol. I have an oil leak looked underneath to check any sign of where it was comming from could not see i then looked down from the engine bay and spotted a rubber pipe and noticed the oil was spitting from that put my finger on it and i think it is some sort of breather pipe when u put your finger on it there is a suction. can anyone help me with this one any ideas what it could be?

IT WOULD SEEM TO BE THE CRANKCASE BREATHER. IS THE OIL LEVEL TO HIGH OR RINGS WORN AND ITS BLOWING BY THE PISTONS. IS THERE BLUE SMOKE FROM EXHAUST AFTER PUTTING YOUR FOOT DOWN AFTER A SHORT TIME OF CAR ON OVER RUN? BLUE SMOKE = BAD NEWS. Sad

As far as i can see no blue smoke. It runs very well loads of power good pickup speed. So not sure then. Engine runs very well quite for the age of the trooper. By the way the miles are 133000.so it might just be a tired engine but like i say it runs starts first time. Ty for the help
