|
|
I was passing my local Isuzu Dealer today so I stopped and asked about this recall.
It's not a recall but it is an enhancement, so if you have a 3.0ltr you should in due course be receiving
a letter about it, or phone your local dealer with your reg and they should book it in for you.
I use and recommend WELSH GROUP GARAGES london rd Gt Shelford Cambridge cb22 5dd
01223 843015 for those that are close to this area, told them I was on ITOC and they are only to pleased to help.
The part in question is W0076 TPS HARNESS _________________ aka x66dag

It takes 40 mins ( or at least thats what IM allow them )
They pull the wires out the big grey connector by the dipstick
and join them all directly together
not seen it done yet
but if that is the case don't want it
like to plug another loom in there if i get an injector fault

If anyone who gets the job done can post up some pictures, that would be great, us cynical types can then make up our own minds! _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB

are you waiting
as i said its only a half hour job
would be interested to see if they only pull the wires for the throttle control
in that case its 2 or 3 wires not the hole lot
spade connectors and abit more cable is my guess
not some fancy additional plug
picture would be great !!!!!!!!
cheers |

If the job is done by Suzu instructions and with the "kit" its actually quite more involved than that....
It incorperates a secondary plug and socket connection for the accelerator position sensor/switch...taken from one of the 12/16 pin (MT/AT) loom connectors (Pins 10 & 12)below the ECU direct to one of the ECU plugs, therebye bypassing i the origional potential troublemaker.....Not like some of the early antipodean dealer lash ups.
A kit is provided by Suzu for the mods.
A throttle increase from idle,up to 3000 rpm may occurr without this mod....
I have spake with the great ones at IM and they strongly recommend to get it done......
Disclaimerrrr.........Technical details are not nescessarily accurate or correct,I'm just writing wot the JRT is telling me...
Mines booked into my local dealer to get done in April....Their charge to chuck on Tech II,zero Orps and a general furtle round.....£25 plus the dreaded...
Not bad methinks........ _________________ Khotso........... |

Its only with no foot on the throttle,AFAIK,if you're in gear and foot off pedal and it did happen, give it gas and throttle will respond. _________________ Khotso........... |

Will wait and see what they do, don't think they'll like mine to work on lol. Not sure I'd want anyone else working on it either. _________________ landcruiser 80 series 4.5, 35's/33's for road, 2inch lift, discreet winch, sliders/armour, factory lockers, stainless side exit +++++ |

You guys are far too prtective over your babies
sounds very complicated for a half hour job
It must have done it afew times hence the recall........SAFETY
God I bet IM have a big bill for trooper recalls
Think they should recall for porus heads now they cause diesel dilution engine revs its nuts off
then goes bang
might send them a letter just for a laugh
