Not quite full flex front and rear as the l/h bump stops not to the axle - the r/h spring will clear the relocation cone . The front l/h was down the hole .

Its 5"+ terrafirma pin/pin shocks front and rear ,bearmach blue 2"+ medium springs,on the rear ,GDE upper A frame ball joint,Gwyn Lewis cranked trailing arms ,pin type rear shock mounts and extended front shock mounts .
Polyflex green bushes on the arms and 34.5" Trellborg tyres . 305/80/15 set of 5 on 3" offset rims off eebuygum for 210 quid Smile

Oh and some input from gary820 too on suspension do's and donts .

You can use the LR spring seat on an isuzu rear mount just by bolting on and it gives you a wider choice of springs that way .

I don't reckon there'd be that much in it tbqh.......

That's maxed out coz the RL wheel has just left the ground, mind you the front ARB was still connected, so there is scope for a little bit more on the front.

That's with HD (+20%) +1.5" springs, 2" coil spacers, and +3" Pro Comp ES 9000 shocks (plus a 1.5" body lift) on 33-12.50 16 tyres (Greenway Macho's).
I've not been brave enough to go down the dislocation route yet Laughing

Some would argue that you can't get decent articulation on a Trooper with HD springs and spacers, I think that photo pretty much proves you can Cool

Sadly, no. They were sold as Pro-Comp, although I think they may actually be an Australian spring sold under licence, possibly Ironman Question

. The company I got them from (Explorer UK) went under in the recession, and I'm not sure if anyone else stocks them in this country any more.
All I know is that the spring rate was listed as stock +20%, and they are progressive rate. With the weight of the car on them on flat ground the top 3 coils are actually fully closed, but in full extension they open up. They were powder coated sky blue when new.

Well it was a bit of trial and error but its down to what you do - If its just offroading then a meduim rate spring is fine as it will lift you 2" and be soft enough to compress right up off road . If you tow or have 500kg loads or you have lots of stuff and the trucks heavy to start with then you need the HD spring.

On the back are bearmach meduim load springs 2" + as they are good for 200kg load without dropping ,if you use the light loads its only 100kg.
On the front are meduim load de carbons as the 3.5tdi lump is 25 kg more than the 200tdi and there is the warn and the bumper too .

On my 3.0 I had a pair of 225lb 2" + disco 1 springs which worked fine and some 3" + lipe series 3 shocks sitting on some short bits of hydraulic hose !

Correct Coil Spring Selection - Terrafirma guide

It is important to understand that all Terrafirma Coil Springs have been designed to provide approximately 2” (50mm) of lift while carrying light, medium or heavy loads. Minimal mechanical changes are required when lifting by this amount, however the Terrafirma Hardware range of accessories does allow for greater lift and significantly increased wheel travel, further enhancing off-road ability.

Selecting the most suitable springs for a Land Rover/ Isuzu may be with some compromise. A heavy load spring needed when fully loaded may ride too high and too hard when unloaded. Likewise a light load spring that is comfortable
and flexible will not achieve the desired lift or carry the heavy loads associated with expedition vehicles.

I suppose I want the best of both worlds, I want a spring that is soft enough to compress off road but at the same time I do a fair bit of towing, usually heavy loads (couple of horses, 18ft trailer loaded with bales etc etc) was looking at bearmach blue hd, 445mm length and 295lb rate. Would these be suitable?
