Is licence still required for basic 40 channel rig?silly question really.Most probably need one for 2 tins linkted by abit of string.However the wonders of life never cease to amaze me.Please advise this geriatric old fart. Thank you peeps.All the best.Gary |

2006 saw them deregulating licences for CB analogue.
Digital (signal) are the only radios that currently need licensing, but you are not likely to use those!
There are some new ones coming out soon, using voip. Not adopted over here yet, but Europeans have been using them for a while! They are exempt also, and don't have geographical restrictions. |

Nah they scrapped it years ago. You only need a licence if you intend to go over to the radio amateur bands. You start with the foundation course to get you on air, then you advance to intermediate and then onto the full licence. You don't have to do all three to get a licence but to get the full licence you have to do all three and separately. You cant do them all in one day like you could do at one time.
Foundation gives you access to the HF, VHF, UHF at ten watts of transmitter power only.
Intermediate gives you access to the same above but you can use 50 watts of transmitted power and have access to the microwave band also.
Full Licence you can do all the above but with 400 watts of transmitter power. _________________ Isuzu Duty Trooper 1993 Tdi LWB. |
