What a day not the best days off roading I have had, a few Landy issues mainly my own doing but was shocked at how bad things have got on this site, I for one will not be going back as so many n*bs there now it is a accident waiting to happen, and that caravan thing well it was like something out of Mad Max not really something I would like to see again, put this post on the NW4x4 site, I know a few of you are members there too. I have copied it over to here for the others to make them aware, please feel free to comment what you thought about today, most of all a big thanks to Twister for helping me out today, don't think Steve enjoyed it that much either, all the best, Will.

I agree it could be a great site, but I disagree with driving round at 30+ MPH with a caravan attached to the back after the top has come away and the tow hitch has snapped off then to be pulled round on a chain, if that had off broke free it would have at least chopped peoples legs off if not killed someone outright, not the best health and safety policy and as a forum we have a duty of care to the people we represent and to ensure this is a "Safe as possible" without spoiling the fun. I am no health and safety nutter but today was too much, some of the 4x4's were driving with no respect for others basically like they stole it, I cannot see how we can responsibly promote this behaviour on this forum sorry to sound like a kill joy but that's my opinion please feel free to reply with your comments.

Very sad that Will, Pea farm up here ended up pretty much the same, bikes and 4x4's on the same track on the same day, not good, land owners greed maybe, surely theses sites need to be inspected/licensed or what evers needed to make them safe.

I agree it was a bit wild today.

Hopefully the site organisers will be open to a few suggestions of change as it could have been a really bad day for someone there today  Crying or Very sad

They do have a few, no drinking and driving, no drugs and 10MPH speed limit but these are not enforced, just enforcing these would be a start and nobody really cares if you do 15MPH but 30+ is taking the p!ss in my opinion  Rolling Eyes

Yep Troopers are allowed LOL Yes this do and this is half of the issues, people drive them like they stole it and don't give a *beep* about others, I am getting to the point of packing in 4x4ing and taking up rambling as their are too many D!ckHe4ds for my liking at these events, just seems to get worse year on year or am I just getting old and grumpy LOL

Here is a vid of the racing which I have uploaded. I might take it down after a few days incase it causes any trouble.

On a lighter note here is a vid of me making a bit of a new track after getting stuck at the bottom of one of the steep bits. Still had to winch out though!

To be honest years ago I did not think we deserved the abuse we got, but we seem to be a self destucting bunch and now I can see the point of view of some people "here they come again to wreck the place" and it seems to be getting worse to the point were I think is it worth the time and effort to even speak with some of these idiots never mind be a part of this carry on, yep I am up for most things and I do get carried away with the moment sometimes but the danger today was another level I was too busy trying to get my youngest son on the roof of Twisters Trooper to remember much else except keep looking at this caravan trailer thing being dragged along at 30+MPH on a chain when kids were standing there and if it had off come loose it would of been carnage of body parts flying, I kept my mouth shut as did Sam but we both could not beleive what we aere seeing, I wish I'd videod it now Shocked

I certainly won't be going to another play day there unless they sort their ideas out. Shame really, coz it's a good site, just ruined by a minority of idiots, and the owner obviously thinking it was a good idea. If anyone there worked for H&S they'd have shut him down on the spot.
Scary thing is, they're doing a bonfire & fireworks do next month  Shocked.

On a slightly lighter note, it's always nice to see others getting seriously stuck in Laughing  Laughing

Took 2 winches to pull Will backwards out of there  Cool.

.
.....And I managed to get it all wrong on one of the mud runs  Embarassed, although I did make it out in the end  Very Happy

and a few more pics......

and finally, nice to see that Troopers aren't the only ones to suffer with their alternators  Razz.....
