|
|
Just come across a facebook page again from our old friends that were behind the Peak parks documentary focusing on Cherpit Lane.
They are lobbying for people to contact the Peak District National Park Authority to let them know they are against vehicular use on our lanes (Mainly Long Causeway/Stanage edge and Roych Clouch)
Judging by the below quote they are getting worried about the trail riders fellowships 3000+ members so i thought i'd get it to a few more people that care about the rights to use Vehicles on these lanes (don't forget they won't stop with just these two) so feel free to send emails to the Peak District National Park Authority (nice ones) Stating why we should keep vehicular rights on them.
For anyone that does not have Facebook i will copy and paste the whole post.

The trail biking organisation called the Trail Riders Fellowship alone has over 3000 members and they are already lobbying the Peak Park en masse by email and letter asking them not to ban vehicles, especially motor bikes. |
URGENT:- TO ALL LOVERS OF THE PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK
Please assist the PDNPA in banning all motorised vehicles from Long Causeway and Roych Clough
Please take part in the Public Consultation
Dear fellow lovers of the Peak District National Park,
The Peak District National Park Authority has finally announced the public consultation about its intention to permanently ban 4X4s, trail bikes and quad bikes from Long Causeway (Hathersage to Redmires) and the Roych Clough (part of the Pennine Bridleway near Chinley and Rushup Edge)
It is critical that as many people as possible take part in this consultation. The off-roading lobby is large and very well-organised. The trail biking organisation called the Trail Riders Fellowship alone has over 3000 members and they are already lobbying the Peak Park en masse by email and letter asking them not to ban vehicles, especially motor bikes.
We need your help to secure a total vehicle ban on both these Green Lanes, and so does the Peak District National Park Authority.
Please go to the link below and write or email the Peak District National Park Authority and tell them you support a permanent ban on all motor vehicles on the Roych and Long Causeway. You need to send a separate email or letter for each of the two routes and please try and use your own words to describe your reasons
http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/looking-after/consultations
PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO ANY OF YOUR CONTACTS WHO YOU THINK CARE ABOUT THE PEAK PARK AND WILL WANT HELP BY TAKING PART IN THE CONSULTATION.
This is a national consultation about a national park and anyone can respond.
Thank you for your support
Best wishes

If you do send emails or comment on the linked facebook page PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep it clean as giving them ammunition to think we are foul mouthed raving lunatics that are ripping up their countryside is exactly what they want.
Feel free to post this in any other 4x4 clubs _________________

I read that on facebook and still can not understand why they need the last few lanes closed, there are thousands of miles of footpaths
Didnt the walkers have a mass trespass to get the footpaths opened after they was closed??
Also both the lanes mentioned are now closed to 4x4's _________________ |

Hmmm, just playing devils advocate but wouldnt clogging the streets up do nothing but annoy the locals?
Then we would have the ramblers and the locals hating 4x4's and bikes
I dont know what would be the best thing to do but something inside says that could backfire. _________________ |
