Figured it's about time i'd post a couple of pics of the new truck.
Got a 97 reg uk spec landcruiser 80 vx amazon, 4.5 24 valve petrol. Fully loaded with diff locks, leather etc etc got it with 70k miles with full history. Went petrol over diesel as they're generally cheaper and have lower miles. The extra cost to get a 4.2 with low miles etc buys a lot of petrol It's not exactly a slow motor!!
So far i've upgraded the stereo, fitted a double din dab radio, swapped all the speakers and changed the stock amp and sub in the boot for more powerful units.
Already got a set of 35's in the garage for it and plan on a suspension lift, 2-3 inches will clear 35's but can get a 4 inch lift kit which has everything in and won't have any clearance issues. (on 32's as stock)
Winch will go behind the stock (steel) bumper, plan on keeping the side steps so most likely re enforce them and the auto box might need a bash plate making. tool box from the troop fits in length ways in the boot and i'm gonna mount the spare in the boot rather then fit a swing away carrier or go on the roof.
Was a bit unsure of the wind deflectors but kinda grown on me _________________ landcruiser 80 series 4.5, 35's/33's for road, 2inch lift, discreet winch, sliders/armour, factory lockers, stainless side exit +++++ |

It replaced my 3.0, insurance isn't much more a year (3.1 was about same as 3.0 to insure) and mpg is worse lol. I can get low to mid 20's on a steady motorway run, had a run over the moors on new years day about averaged 18ish. Tbh don't think it's bad for the size of it. If provoked and gearbox in power mode it gets much lower lol. _________________ landcruiser 80 series 4.5, 35's/33's for road, 2inch lift, discreet winch, sliders/armour, factory lockers, stainless side exit +++++ |

Nice motor ! most go LPG with these and totally wreck the engines on them !............I was shocked to see petrol ! but what can I say ! I drive a
petrol T5 V70 like it should be,and I am a total diesel head , it all comes down to 6 of them ! or half a dozen of the others ! you got to pay for what you want to drive ! looks like a very nice choice ! |

Cheers. Yeah she's petrol with no lpg! Likes a drink but I don't do loads of miles yearly so not too fussed with the gallons to miles.
Sounds great and pulls rather well. It's better on fuel with stereo turned up as can't hear the engine lol. _________________ landcruiser 80 series 4.5, 35's/33's for road, 2inch lift, discreet winch, sliders/armour, factory lockers, stainless side exit +++++ |

I have driven (on a few occasions) a Viper, GREAT car, very unconfortable, Feels like it's going to break apart but my god what a motor, I really can't imagine a motor like that in a Trooper
Would turn more heads than a Dodge ram though
I used to chuck people the keys and say if you can start it you can take it (no one ever did ) _________________
