With a 2" lift the ball joint flip will pretty much counter the camber alterations - so worth doing.

Stick a couple of 2" spring spacers in the back, or someone is selling some old man emu ones on the for sale section at the moment, and that's a +2" lift for £80

You will be able to get 33" tyres under a 2" lift. As for patrol wheels - dunno Wink

I managed to get some 32"s under a stock height monterey with no rubbing but those rims have a weird offset.

hi
i am currently having some 2'' spacers made for the rear springs as i can not find any cheap options in that hight,
all being ok i will post some pics.
Also does any one know what wheels will fit in the arches with a 2'' lift i tried some nissan patrol rims today but they stuck out loads and they are only on 265/70/16 tyres.
i read some where that l200 wheels fit not to sure if they have got the same offset as these patrol ones can any one help
cheers

the 8" wide frontera rims sit very nicely with 31x10.5's  I've got them on at the moment and the rims sit flush with the outer lip of the wheel arch.

Hi, i got an unexpected lift when the troop went for a mot, the back springs were shot so i asked the mecanic to fit heavduty ones for carring lots of weight cost me £100 for springs.

I have adjusted the torsion bars, and ive just been reading about this ball joint flip, can someone explain "negative camber" (apoligies for bieng thick Rolling Eyes ) have not flipped the balljoint (yet) and the steering is a little strange Confused

Negative camber is when the wheels are like this   \ /  whne viewed from the front of the car. Anything up to 2" of lift you shouldnt need to touch the ball joints.

/ \ is negative camber
\ / is positive camber Wink

As you lower the bottom wishbone the arc is slightly greater than the upper wishbone, and this causes the camber to alter slightly by 'pushing' the bottom of the wheel out slightly. If you flip the ball joint, at a 2" lift on the tortion bars, near as damn it, it will put the camber back to where it should be. Flipping the ball joints will give you about another 10mm of lift though, so will need lowering on the tortion bars, which will put your camber back again Wink Very Happy  It really makes a difference when your going for the 2 1/2" - 4" lift and your not too concerned about tracking...

Best thing to do is get on dead level ground (tescos car park??) and sit in front of your truck and have a look what's going on - I think that it should be about 1 degree negative camber for stock set up??? some one might be able to confirm that.

Troopers don't either. Bang in the middle is what you want to aim for.

Thanks for advice, the rear is up about 2"+(can occasionally hear the uj's grumble when goin over a hump), have screwed the front up to 1 1/2 - 2" max, i dont need the lift, but as it is off road every other day it is usefull.

It handles much better but the steering is different, not better, not worse, just different Confused
