Same as my one ..
Couple different ways to mod it to fit .
I used the 3.1 air box .. I think it has a better fitting lid . _________________

Ok Ian, hows you?
So, should I look for a 3.1 airbox to get the best fit? Not sure what to do, never done this before
Do I need the top bit or a full jobby? _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB

Also you can get a K&N to fit the 3.1 airbox _________________ If all else fails just nod, smile and say "Yes Dear"

I'm good thanks ..
I got the whole thing , air box and top intake pipe .
Cut the 3.1 intake pipe down and it fits in the 3.0 intake pipe (if you get what I mean)
3 bolts hold the air box down . But different pattern .
So my one is only bolted down with 2 , the spare hole is sealed .
If you can get the bracket for the air box off a 3.1 , that would help ,
But I got it to work .
Adz used a bit of flexi pipe , and kept the 3.0 air box .
If you do it that way you won't use the short dog leg part in snorkle kit .
Either way works fine ..
You will need to make the hole in innerwing bigger (towards head light)
If you want I could post photo of how I did mine (be weekend before I can do that) ..
Oh and watch out for the funny feeling when you start the hole saw on the wing _________________

OK, how the hell do I make this fit
Looks like I'm going to fit a 3.1 airbox, my 3.0 one has got an expansion tank sort of thing right where the snorkel outlet comes out....and nowt in the kit lines up at all!
Anybody got a spare 3.1 airbox please! _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB

Like Ted says ...
Everything before the airbox goes in the bin . Unbolts from innerwing. _________________

Ok thanks chaps
I just opened the bonnet to have a look, (even after many hours with my bonce under there I couldn't picture the layout!)
Straight away, RAIN so I sacked it and came in. I'll have a proper look in the morning, think I will remove everything and start from there, maybe make my own ducting.....or get a 3.1 set up _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB

Like I said either way works fine .
I only used the 3.1 airbox cause It's metal and I felt it would give better seal .
If you get a 3.1 airbox with it's top flexi pipe . Will only take minutes to fit .
Take the slash guard out of wheel well , and remove everything between
the wing and innerwing .
Remove the airbox so you can make the hole that's in the innerwing bigger towards the headlight .
Dylan posted some photos when he fitted his .. _________________

Craig aka omega63 has got a 3.1 airbox for me, so I think I will go that route
A tin box should be easier to seal as Ian says, plus its the one the snorks designed for, so thats another job sorted _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB
