Another diesel in coolant! Cost???

My 3.0l 2003 trooper has got diesel in the coolant, and its now spraying out of the expansion tank!  I've been quoted £700+VAT - is this a usual price.  Apparently there are no outstanding recalls so I have to pay.  I can't do this myself and it has to go to a garage, but I am reeling at the cost!

err no way! it's about £40 for all the seals and say 2-3 hrs to do the job tops, they don't need to replace the sleeves just change the o rings on them part no.s are on this site if you do a search. trouble is it could be a cracked head but you need to do the cheaper option first

Just wanted to say thank you to Eithan - couldn't have bee more helpful, fixed the Trooper, gave me the confidence to tow the caravan TWICE in two weeks with her.  Thank you SO much!
