Hi all, after the big bash I found that I wanted more articulation and height so I've got plans to go to 4" on suspension. I've have bought plus 4" shocks and some +2" springs and thinking of getting some 2" spring spacers. Ill be posting pics through me mods. |

Dont forget to extend all you brake lines etc mate and watch that with the +4 shocks that they dont allow the spring or spacer to fall out on max articulation, what are you going to do at the front end or are you going for the dragsta look, that's a BIG bite of the apple youve taken good luck mate _________________ aka x66dag

I fully agree with you!
My Troop feels like a lowered Corsa right now, I've fitted a 38mm body lift, 3" rear spring spacers and wound up the bars at the front: Now it seems like a waste of time
My front tyres are rubbing on both sides when on full lock, I've fitted 33 12.5 15 tyres but they actually measure 31.5" diameter.....I feel ripped off!
As our man says, what can we do to get some serious lift? _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB
3" Body lift, 3" suspension lift, diff dropped, balljoints flipped, extended panhard, Tree sliders, Superwinch, +2" Pro Comps, 33" Mudders: Nearly finished! |

Main issue is are you happy driving with no arb's on ? Once they are off the back end on trooper has loads of things you can do to get big travel .
Look at Twisters current truck and garys old blue one they are good examples .
Front ends allways been the hold up but if you do all the stuff on here -
http://www.expeditionswest.com/equipment/trooper/suspension_travel/Trooper_front_suspension.html you will get the most out of it movement wise.
With the rear springs you can make a landy type strip retainer for the bottom so the dont drop out . _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |

Get some 35's under there, the lowest point is the diffs so get them up as high as you can. _________________ landcruiser 80 series 4.5, 35's/33's for road, 2inch lift, discreet winch, sliders/armour, factory lockers, stainless side exit +++++ |

thanks for the advice I have extended brake lines ready to go on the truck. I'm thinking just cranking the torsion bars to match the rear, fitting manuals hubs, fitting low droop snubbers, shock post extensions and seeing how much damage it will do to the cv's then I might consider a diff drop, but it defeats the whole point of lifting the truck |

I wonder if cutting out and re shaping/fabricating inner arches to the rear will give that extra flex with +4" shocks without having to lift the truck any more.
Has it been done, is it feasible.
Peter at Spanner Monkeys who made my bumpers has done this to a Disco 1. _________________

With 4" lift you're going to have next to no down travel, it will definitely eat cvs without a diff drop. Like Gary says, a better bet would be to get 35s on it, that's the only way to gain more clearance. _________________ 2000 3.0 Trooper Duty swb |

Cheers for that, that's given me some good ideas, currently I am running no rear arb and it just feels the same |

To run 4" shocks without more lift you'd need extended shock turrets Adz. _________________ 2000 3.0 Trooper Duty swb |
