Hi. I have owned the above car for four years and really like it. I'm now a big fan of Isuzi Trooper engines..The previous owner informed me the conversion was carried out by a firm in the Burnley area. Old MOT certificates support this.
A few weeks ago the clutch packed in. I am having real trouble identifying what the clutch cover is off. The gearbox is from volvo and the clutch friction plates are almost certainly Volvo. However, the clutch housing is proving very difficult to identify. There are no serial numbers on it and various companies around the UK have been unable to help either, despite sending the cover off for comparison with various models and makes, including Isuzi.
I have heard engine conversions like this were quite common a few years back. A mechanic friend thought some of your members may have heard of, or even know, the company or individual who fitted the engine and made it all work. Perhaps this individual would be able to tell me what the clutch cover is off? If so I'd be really, really grateful if someone could help me get in touch with him.
All I know is he was based off the M65 in the Burnley area..
This was a really professional conversion job and it's a great car to own and drive. The owner prior to me manages a rigging company and used the vehicle to tow equipment for the oil industry up to Aberdeen.
I can email pics of the clutch housing to anyone who thinks they might be able to identify it..
Can anyone help?
Cheers.

If you get really stuck my local independent clutch place - ORCA - can do it but there must be some clutch place up near you that does all the tractor and plant and truck clutches ? _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |
