Now as mr b has gubbed my question  in the gearbox section with his plumb lines  Exclamation I'm asking the question here .

If you have  a gearbox that wont cope with the power of you chosen engine/axle/tire size you look for the next best one about so I'm looking to put an  Isuzu 3.0 or V6 manual box into my 90 .

The mazda 3.5 Tdi seems to chew up  the land rover boxes but as the 3.0 Isuzu  has the same sorta torque its worth a try .

So how long is it from the bell housing to the rear prop flange ? Problem is if its over 33 inches the engines got to be moved forward or the rear prop angle gets too steep .

Think your engine will be poking out the front mate lol, the 3.0 gearbox from bell housing to Prop flange is approx. 41" long

Hmm pencil and paper time ,again  Smile  Probably depends on the bellhousing bolts pcd then as the engine can go forward  a bit and the axle back .
