Bought a 3.1 Citation last weekend and am currently looking around for someone to fit a new cam belt and carry out a service on it.

I have currently been quoted £250 and £390. What would be the going rate?

i sold my monterey v6 to a chap in north wales and he paid £200 so hunt around they should all do the same job its just at what cost get the yellow pages out and phone Wink

if by scarletsfan youre from llanelli? i could do your cambelt far cheaper than that. Also ive got trade with rickards in pontardulais so parts/filters etc wont be expensive.

Yes from Llangennech. Both prices were for a cam belt change and a full service. The higher quote includes a full cam belt kit that I was told was required otherwise the belt would not be guaranteed.

For future work I would not mind your contact details.

well the service items ..

cambelt kit £80
fuel filter £5
air filter £5
oil £5
oil filter £6
drivebelts £7 pair i think
glow plugs (optional) £40 for the set

£50 labour id charge for that as a hobble
