Have just bought a 97 3.1 Citation. It came with one key, there isn't any remote zapper. From what I've read on the forums the key is chipped and there's no point in getting a key cut from the original. Is a main dealer the only option as regards getting a spare key ? Would hate to loose the one i have !

Have just got a key cut with my local locksmith . He said the original key was coded and it was unlikely that a copy would work . I got one cut on chance and lo and behold it works in doors and ignition.Hopefully it will stay working !

Tom

I had a similar thing happen I had a key cut which openes the doors and turns the ignition on but doesnt start it, Confused
I did the first time as I had just started and stopped it with the origional key so the imobilser hasdnt reset, try locking the car with origional key then try the new one after 5 minutes, this way you'll know if the imobilizer is working.
