Hi everyone from a complete newbie, both to posting on this site and to the wonderful world of Isuzu Troopers.

Anyway, could anyone please help, I have an imported trooper, Bighorn 3.1TD '93 on a K plate (not sure if that makes it a MK1 or MK2), with a slight prob with the rear brake caliper, which I will have to take off to work on, so far so good. Now on looking under the hood the brake fluid cap mentions DOT 3.

So the question I'd like to pose is, if while bleeding the brakes I need to top up the fluid can I use DOT 4, (as I cannot seem to get hold of DOT 3)?

Thanks in advance

dot 4 is fine, its prob due a fluid change anyway. Youll need about 2.5 litres to fully flush the system

And yours will be a mk 2, MK 1's finished halfway through 91.

Just an update, manged to remove the guide pins and work on that part of the caliper, without the need to remove the whole caliper, thus no need to bleed the brakes, so anyone want 500ml of DOT 4, unused! Very Happy
