How does the factory alarm system work on a Mk 2. When you take the key out and close the door the the red sign flashes then stops is that what its supposed to do, is it an audible alarm or just an immobiliser, any info would be appreciated. Very Happy

If it's like my 94/5 Monterey, the alarm activates on key turn in DRIVER'S DOOR only. You can centrally lock from passenger side, but that won't activate the alarm. It's a horn only thing, no immobiliser (with Montereys, they fitted an immobiliser above & beyond the Isuzu spec.). The manual explains all if you have one....
