My 1991 3.1 Citation has developed an usual Ticking from what I think is the ABS.

The brakes worked fine until a 350 round trip in the torrential rain over to Scarborough last weekend.

I got a light on the dash "Anti Lock"....which stayed on until I stopped and re-started the engine.

The brakes still work OK, but when the vehicle is stationary or coming to a complete stop I hear a ticking noise from under the bonnet and the brake pedal pushes my foot back up a couple of centimetres.

If kind of goes,,,TRRRRRRRrrrr

If I then release and then press the pedal again it stops.

I have checked the brake fluid and all seems OK..and the anti lock light has not come on since....

Any ideas...?????????????

That is exactly what working ABS feels like, the noise is the ABS pump working and the pedal movement is the ABS pulsing the brakes, however, unless you're locking the brakes up it shouldn't happen. It may just have got water into one of the sensors, probably best to get it put on a dealers computer and any fault codes read.
