Hi,

Has anyone came across this issue.
No power, excess smoke, running rough, found that the EGR valve is in the open position.
Motor the valve closed and the car will not start.
Motor the valve open and it starts but back to the bad running, as expected.

Looks like there a fault in the motor section, the POT that senses the motor travel is reading a fixed value, not changing.

I've now fitted a new EGR valve and the car will not start.
Before I started, the only error code was P1404.

I'm now thinking that there is a second fault but its hard to believe that 2 faults could develop at the same time.
