Tech2 arrived yesterday, and boy does the amount of associated gubbins look somewhat daunting!
Oodles of cables, connectors, 5 cds, memory card etc etc.
I believe the " manual " runs to 154/ 184 pages ( cant remember which...too traumatised!), so that will need a few trees to be sacrificed and gallons of printer ink.
My old headteacher used to say: " Cool calm deliberation disentangles every knot".
Methinks this knot will need some disentangling.
Wish me luck. |

Hi.
Thanks for reassurance.
From other posts I assume : Separate 12 volt battery to supply unit with power via crocodile clipped cables supplied, but fit these with 3 amp in- line fuses; cable to unit,
fit correct connector then plug in?
Cheers. |

Hi.
The fun continues!
Trooper had been starting on the button., but I have not used it for fear of engine dying in traffic.
Decided to fire it up and try using the Tech 2.
Car has reverted to non starting!
I will charge up the two batteries overnight and then try hooking up the Tech2.
That will need separate battery power when I crank it over.
I have spare battery.
Any specific advice re Tech2 setting which might highlight cause?
Still waiting for " o" rings for iol feed pipe to enable new ORPS to be fitted.
Cheers. |

look at engine speed and oil rail pressure, with engine off the pressure should be 0mpa if it's -0.2 then thats ok but if it's -0.7 then its gone . likewise if the pressure is jumping around from 0 to say 3 or 4 map then back to 0 again it's gone and needs replacing |

Abject Failure!
Hi.
Set up supply battery. Fired up Tech2. All seemed fine.
Went to tests...only gave F1 to F8.
Tried Rail Oil Pressure Control Valve.....but think this is a different beast to ORPS...which didn't appear.
Instructed to start engine...no can do.
Read temperature etc.
Wondered if more F codes, but couldn' t fathom out how to source them.
Assuming more codes which include engine soeed and ORPS...but..!
Sorry for being such a wally.
Cheers. |

News from Tech 2 Front!
Had another go.
Got Data Display. Scrolled down..ORPS showing 6.1 MPa.
Next line down...Desired ORPS.reading....6.0 MPa!
So these numbers are way adrift of the zero it should be at 0 RPM, and suggest all is hunky dory!
However, I am assuming it is faulty, and as you know have new unit awaiting installation, once the " o" rings get to the local dealer.
Thanks for all your assistance.Eventually hope to get familiar with Tech 2... But not too familiar.
Prefer the car to resume years of trouble free motoring, with little or no need of diagnostics!
Cheers. |
