Hi all , well after nearly six years of trouble free running my 3.0l 4JX1 seems to have blown a head gasket. I have all the necessary gaskets, seals and o rings gathered together to amend the situation next weekend. I really would appreciate any advice, heads up etc. from you sages out there. Many thanks Don |

How did you get on with this job? Not many people about on the forums these days, and I am facing the same issue! |

I too am prob looking at replacing the head gasket, I've seen a few comments that you don't need to remove the timing belt to do this. I haven't started the job yet, but soon yaaaaa! _________________ TWO Bighorn's a 92 and a 93

You dont have to remove it but you obviously need to take it of the Cam sprocket. Personally, for the cost of a new belt and how easy they are to fit, I would change it anyway. You will still have to set the timing so may as well do it with a new belt. _________________ Never let a meal go by----Empty sacks dont stand up!!! |

on a 3.0l you do remove the timing belt but on a 3.1 you don't need to |
