I'm having issues with the my 1995 Isuzu Bighorn 3.1TD Auto and it may be due to a family of rats that plagued the car years ago and ate some of the wiring.

Which transmission is in the Isuzu Bighorn?

From Google / Wiki , I thought it would be a GM 4L30E - however a local transmission guy here in Melbourne has advised that it is a A340 found in Toyotas?

Transmission guy advised that a replacement wiring loom is probably the way forward to start to fix the issues, but the a 2nd hand wiring loom would be different to the local Holden Jackaroo here in Australia as they use the GM 4L30E unit.

Do I have an GM 4L30E or a Toyotoa A340 unit in the Bighorn?

Issues:
1 - When running, auto is changing gears at cruising speed - seems very sensitive and cannot hold gear - revs go up and down every 10 or 20 seconds.

2 - When car is hot, loses 4th / overdrive gear.  4th comes back when driving for 10/15 minutes at very low revs.

3 - When car is cold, no display on dashboard / reverse lights until car has warmed.

On a positive note, no leaks and the fluid looks and smells great!
