Does anyone know why the part down below the back of the turbo has coolant going to it, it looks like it is connected to the fuel pre filter.
I'm thinking it may be a heat exchanger to stop the fuel from freezing in cold climate and if i'm correct it could be why i'm getting fuel in the coolant.
Please correct me if i am wrong and any advise would be appreciated

Are you sure its a fuel pre filter?Never heard of one of them on this engine. Just piped from the tank to the filter in N/S engine bay.I believe you are describing the the EGR cooler.
Double check(i knoiw its difficult to see much round under the exhaust with out a mirror).

Thanks Malcolm,
It could be EGR I didn't realise they had a cooler. It is just above the long black filter (which I believe is the fuel pre-filter) on the OS by the bulkhead. The hose from the engine to the unit burst due to fuel in the coolant, so i was thinking to bypass it (if it was a fuel warmer). What problems would that cause with the EGR if I did. Gonna try to get it on the ramp so i can get a good look.
Keeping it off-road so no worries about emissions

Where is this long black filter? I have never seen a filter on the offside bulkhead.
There is a long filter on the O/S of engine next to chasis with a cooler above it which is the oil cooler.
If you have had diesel in the coolant it will most likely be the injector sleeve "O" rings leaking and in need of replacement or a cracked head or gasket failure .
There is loads of info on this forum about fuel in coolant issues.
