Trooper let me down.

The 3.0 lost all its water ... thanks to a split in the inaccessible small hose that goes from the top rear of the oil cooler and into the block - BEHIND the turbo and Cat.

Discovered this after trying ethan's tip of jacking up the rear of the gearbox to access/inpect  the small hose that goes around the back to the inlet manifold.

NO - it wasn't that one leaking so the turbo had to come off to get access to the oil cooler top and block. Very much a pain.

Found the original hose was quite thin so I would advise anyone with an engine/turbo out to change this blasted hose! Save yourself a lot of hassle later? [wish I'd done it].

Only good thing was I discovered the 2 bolts that join the Cat stay to the bellhousing had 'dropped out'.

BLAST !

Now discovered [not totally unexpected] that head gasket is leaking air into cooling system.
Tried K-seal as I was fed up with working on it ... DID NOT WORK (waste of money).

Bought new head gasket - then thought about head being possibly warped and unrepairable.

Checked out fleabay head and got badly spelt answer claiming it was "OE quality and made in Thailand" !!! Yea ... [call me 'doubting Thomas']

Hope I don't find anything too drastic [I have 1 spare unwarped Isuzu-made cylinder head ...]
