Has anyone done this? My alloys have a bit of surface rust not too bad but close up a bit of an eye saw, May have them done, just want to know if advised? Wink

I've never had it done myself but know some people that have, it can be pricey but alloys will come back looking like new if you find a good company. Aint cheap though.

Cheers, may have a look round and get some quotes, just think it'd look bit nicer if it didn't have the rust on them, Cheers Phil Wink

Surely if they have rust then they are steel wheels not alloys, in which case your best bet would probably be to get them media blasted and then powder coated.

Probably no more and may well be less than having an alloy refurbed. Post some pics and maybe we can work out what they are

Good chrome plating is bloody expensive these days. Someone was telling me about a guy that was quoted £800 to rechrome the grille on his 65 chevy. Cheap chrome plating will peel in months. I'm not sure how easy it is to rechrome wheels, have a look in a classic car mag or even motorcycle mags for local platers.

You could still have them blasted and powder coated for way less than chroming, they do a good aluminium colour or you could have them in pretty much any colour you want from black to bright red!
