My dads after a decent air compressor. Like ARB, VIAIR or something. Wants one that can put up with decent use not overheat blowing up a football like the halfords efforts.
Ive seen T-Max ones for £50 does anyone know anything about them?
If anyone has experience of a decent one let me know and best place to buy. |

Have you thought about using an air-con pump. Can be picked up from a scrapyard.
Think York ones may be best as they have an oil sump.
Have looked around at electric compressors but not used any in anger. By the looks of it the more you pay the greater the duty cycle, so the longer it can be run. All depends on your intended use. Pumping up the odd tyre or football, pumping up all your tyres after off roading or supplying air for air tools. _________________ Isuzu Trooper SWB 3.0DT Commercial |

It's quite common in the USA to use York A/C compressors for an in vehicle air supply, either for airing up aired down tyres off road, running air tools or even running airbag supension. Ideally you want to install a tank and also a pressure sensitive valve so the compressor shuts ioff when the tank is pressurised to the right level. _________________ Phil

My dad has bought a tmax air compressor today. £50 from paddock spares.
Its really good blows up tyres real fast and has an accurate gauge.
There are a few little bits that look a bit cheap but they are not integral to the use.
It could also do with a longer power lead for blowing up the trailer tyres but this can be adapted easily. |
