In that case a missfire could be an ht lead breaking down or a worn dizzy or cap ect,
I think it best if i leave this to the petrol heads  Embarassed

Check to make sure he's tightened the distributor hold down clamp.  If he's been playing with the tuning he'd have loosened it, if he didn't do it up again properly it could be the dizzy is spinning round thus changing the timing.  I had this happen on one of my spitfires, ran fine at idle but misfired like a bar steward when given some gas.  Turned out the dizzy was loose and moving when you gave it some throttle but at idle the plug leads pulled it back round like a return spring so it idled fine.  If it is loose you'll need to get him back to retime it before he does it up properly.

I've had a similar experience in the past with a mobile tuner, the guy said he'd replaced a load of stuff like dizzy cap, plugs etc so charged me an arm and a leg but couldn't produce theold ones saying he'd tossed them in his rubbish bin in the van but didn't want to root around and find them, I was pretty sure he hadn't changed a thing.  It was running like a bag of nails the next day and he just wasn't interested in coming back out.
