I know this is probably a very daft question to experienced trooper owners, but can someone tell me why my 93 3.1td Duty has 2 batteries?

Thanks

The twin battery set-up is also a good reference to use in identifying non-UK spec imported Troopers which often only have a single battery.

In colder climates the 'Cold Cranking Capacity' (CCC) of lead acid batteries can be seriously effected, which could mean that a single battery set-up fails to start your engine on a cold morning Sad .

Paralleling two similar batteries together effectively doubles the AHr rating, although it will not double the CCC.

Cheers,
