I know, a bit of a wimpy question - though all references
seem to be grade oil for 3ltr diesel +
What is the best grade oil that I should use for the 2.8TD.

I use a good quality 15w40 turbo diesel oil. It's DX Three.
Someone gave me some of that magnatec stuff, so I used that once, but didn't rate it. The car pulls better with what I normally use.
And change the oil and filter every 3000 miles.
Get a 25ltr drum if you do allot of miles |

My 2.8 never has a problem with emissions.
I think with the mot an oil change and filter, fuel filter (fill new one with red x) and make sure the air filter is ok. Should be fine at that.
Re flushing if it's been a while. Change the oil run the engine then drop it again. It will be nice and clean then. |

The book says 10-30 multigrade, but i stick 15-40 in mine without a problem. _________________ |

Really!
My book lists a range of oils for different ambient temps. I landed on 15w40 as this had the best temp range for this country. |

Had the chance to clean out the pipes a bit
rushing down the A3, no more smoking - good thing too.
Surprising what a clean out can do going down a fast road.
15w40 then... though I don't think i'll flush it - or maybe ?
Cheers |

If it's been a while, it would be a good idea. |
