hi there, bit of a lurker, first time posting.

basically, how similar are the engines of all the varients ?

are parts directly interchangable between the trooper-monterey-horizon ?

i have a 92 3.1td lotus bighorn that i am very pleased with. had it about 4 months now.

i am planning to fit a new timing belt and having no problem in finding belt and tensioner and other service parts but i am having a problem finding a trooper/bighorn listing for the idler pulley/tensioner.

my local vauxhall dealer will sell me the idler pulley for a 3.1td monterey, is it the same part?

or would an asain import part from japanese4x4spares be ok?

cheers

hk

For reference, all 3.1td indirect injection engines fitted in Bighorn and Trooper (Monterey is simply rebadged Trooper) are designated 4JG2. Engine parts are interchangeable. Ther are differences in equipment spec., switchgear etc., between Trooper and Bighorn even though they may be visibly identical.
