No problem, your 3.0 needs certain work doing to it.
That includes the heater and replacment injectors, dont worry all the work is done free  Smile
You should also get a courtesy car for the duration  Wink
Give you nearest Dealer a call and book it in, there is more info in the recall thread and i have no doubt others will give there advise.

Hi Kev,

All you need to do is call your local dealer and book it in, the work is done at no cost to you and involves new terminals on the heater in the dash and then a new set of injectors to prevent your engine going bang!

This could be about the  welding around the front offside 'A' arms which was wrongly done at manufacture. There has been a general (world) recall for certain frame nos. for over a year now and this seems to be the affected year range.

Hence the "long term safety related concern" comment which doesn't sound like the 3.0 faults at all (but they do use funny language sometimes) Ceramic heaters are also fitted to 3.1's I think, so it may be a different issue alltogether.

The welding issue is more prone to failure if taken off road or bumber mounted winch use. We had a Kiwi member who's Bighorn failed in exactly that way (and pitched him off the road in the process) and he was the one that eventually uncovered the recall about 1 year or so ago..

But as you say, it's well worth following through to see what happens....

Ah... as Hard1 says the long term safety recall is for an inspection of the chassis and the ceramic heater as per above. Injectors are not an issue on the 3.1 as it does not use a common rail system.

Hi there Mods. As this seems to be a very rare 3.1 recall, perhaps it might be best in the Recall section for others to reference with an appropriate title. If this is kosher, it's going to affect a lot of Troopers in the UK. (1993 - 1996)

Presumably, after doing Pacific Rim and US they've finally got around to us!

PS I've checked the affected area on mine and it looks fine. I think I'm out of the range because although mine is officially '93 I believe it actually manufactured in '92.

PPS The fix is simply for anyone with welding skills so no worries... Smile

the 3.1 recall is for the ceramic heater wiring only
the wires to the ceramic heater have a connector in them that if loose can become over heated
this connector is cut out and the wires joined togetherby crimped joints

i think grandad may have hit the nail on the head,i phoned isuzu to book my trooper in and explained that it was a 3.1 td and not the 3.0 and she said we have done a lot of the ceramic heater recalls.and then imformed me it would only take around half an hour to complete so it very much sounds like its the job stated above certainly not a big one i will be able to let you know better after the work has been carried out on the 5th june thanks kev.
